I spent most of yesterday getting our deck back in shape for this weekend. Figured I better give a gentle shake to everyone's chain that we are going to fill the weekend with 100 point landings.
-
I'll be there Sunday. Will I need a parka and snow shoes this time?
Bill Bischoff

I doubt it, but I've learned to never say "never".

Well Mike looks like the old DOC is going to miss another great carrier fly together. Will be on the road to Brodaks, kind of a vacation with the wife to see some of that part of the country. So you guys have fun.
-
I don't think I ever saw a post with the results. How did it go? I hate that I missed it.

Mike,
Are you guys having any other C/L events down there yet this year?

Sorry - I have been more than usually busy and have neglected much of the on-line stuff
lately --
We were rained out on Saturday, Sunday was very nice but flying was down a little due to
people wanting to get an early start for home. Paul Kegel and Bill Bischoff in addition to the
Chicago regulars (Pete, Bill C., Art) as well as 4 locals (Me, Curt Netcott, Dave Wicker and
Bob Baldus) all put in flights. I will try to remember to post the results here when I get
home tonight.
So are you all married off, good & proper now? Will you guys be planning on next year here?
How's Michael doing? Try and talk your Mom into coming with you next year. Haven't seen
her in much too long.

We had this carrier contest and two combat contests in addition to the Spring Stunt one.
Nothing else (sanctioned) is planned for this year. We have to finish up our club multi-event
contest and have our club picnic - Sept. 20th, I believe. You'd be more than welcome at
that, if you are looking for something to do that day.

Here is the report that I sent in to Burt:
Midwest CarrierFest 2014 – June 7-8
Saturday, we were rained out – it started to rain about the time we got the deck set up, and progressed into a pretty heavy downpour, with thunder and lightening in the vicinity. Sunday was a very nice day, and we managed quite a few flights. We had two 'newbies', Bob Baldus and Curt Netcott, who both managed 100 point landings.

Thanks Mike, I'll keep that date in mind. I recently took a new job and now I have WEEKENDS OFF! o2oP
Heck, I might actually be able to have a bit of a life again... ;D

It would be great if you joined us whenever you are able -- Make sure you double check the date with
me - I was trusting my (sometimes faulty) memory when I wrote the above.

Thanks for posting the results. I understand being busy. It seems like since we got back from the honeymoon we have been go, go, go. I have been working on a new plane that I am hoping to have done by our oct contest but since it has taken me a year and a half to just get the fuse done Im not to sure I can finish everything up in a couple months.
Michael is doing good. He is in his senior year at Clemson studying Architecture. So hopefully he can get a good job when he gets done and be able to fly some more.

We had a meeting Sat. -- the Club Multi-event final leg is Combat. Will be flown Saturday, 9/20. The rain date
for that and the club picnic is Sunday, 9/21. We still haven't got any details on the picnic - probably will be
bring a Subway sandwich and fly for awhile.
