At 8:30 Thursday morning marc will be having back surgery at the U of Michigan. It will involve some fusing of vertebrates . Keep him and Pam in your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks Joe, will keep him and the misses in the prayer list. My Dad had that done and then was forced to retire. Found out he was 67 when forced to retire. This back in the 50's.

I talked with Pam and Marc minutes ago and while Pam is a bit rattled she does sound positive. Marc wanted to talk Carrier and he and I spent some time doing just that until a doctor came in and spoiled the conversation. From what both of them told me the operation went very well, with no for-seen problems. Marc is confident that he will be back in the circle again this coming competition year. More coming as I hear more.

I talked at length yesterday and again today with Marc. He is home and is in some pain, but otherwise I detected some real positive thoughts from him. I suspect he will be flying again by early Summer. His surgeon has indicated that he should mend well and be able to fly Carrier again.

Good news. I am glad the the surgery went well. There would be no carrier contest in Detroit if it was't for Marc and Lee. Thanks for the update.

That is great news. Be great if we could all get together again as one big group. I still remember the first Tri-Cities NATS.

Yea Doc, those were heady days indeed! Top notch competition, lots and lots of minor competitors watching and learning. In Sportsman on the last day of competition we had more Sportsman entries than ALL of the entrants in official AMA Carrier in this last year's Nats!
On to better news. Marc and I have been talking several times a week for the last few weeks and yesterday Marc was doing even better, with just minor pain and was even in the shop working for a spell on some new planes. His spirits continue to improve and we even spent some time talking about some NCS treason (oops, make that a few new ideas) Anyway, his spirits are really improving!

I talked to Mark today. He's doing well and plans to run the May contest in Detroit was usual.
