Civilian schemes are out, then? What about the famous yellow one used by the Blue Angels?
There were silver ones used by at least South Vietnamese and Thai air forces.
I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

Here is a page from the Profile 107 publication on the Bearcat -- The yellow wings on the target tug version make for a distinctive color scheme.  The two gray ones are Royal Thai Air Force.

There are some pix of my Hellcat Profile in the target tug scheme here:

Google, "F8F Bearcat aircraft schemes" there's some choices.

I make the Blue Angles graphics. I think there's a model at CFC Graphics you can take a look at.

I just dug up the link, not sure it will take you there?

Here's a simple scheme, not really for carrier though.

Most Naval Aircraft also used a red color for Drone service at on time or another. For sure Hellcats and Bearcats. Also look at Hellcats in Naval Reserve colors after WW2.

For carrier, the model must have a military paint scheme, but it doesn't necessarily have appropriate to the specific aircraft. Someone once said that all white, all yellow, all blue or all gray would always be acceptable. I think something gray and white, Skyraider"ish" would look good as an alternative to solid blue.

All navy blue is pretty much the only authentic color.  The US Navy Bearcat was a week late for the war and not used until Korea and French Indochina.

Mine is modeled after the one in Saigon, which was later brought home redone in, guess what?  Navy blue.

Well, since civvy schemes don't count, I suppose "Rare Bear" is right out!

Like PerttiMe said, the Blues operated "Beetle Bomb" for a while in all yellow. Looks pretty good to me and as simple as it gets...
