I have a CL model of a F/A-18 with a 54 inch WS.  Has two OS 46 DF engines in it.  Will that work?  By the way at 54 inch WS it is 80 inches nose to tail.  The advantage it would have in Navy Carrier is that it not only has big flaps but also leading edge droop capability.  Think of an undercambered wing for slow flight.

AMA limits the wing span of a profile navy carrier event airplane to 50 inches, not less than 300 sq. in, and not more than 4 pounds weight.   Mike

I have posted these before, but just for you, here they are.  The big guy is Jack Sheeks.

The first picture is of the model disassembled for transport.
Second picture is fueling the tanks for test taxi prior to first test flight.
Third picture is during taxi test on left engine only.  Had problems of getting the fuel line into the fans.  Fuel tanks are ahead of the engines in the removeable nose.
Fourth picture is of Jack and I with the F/A-18A.  Big model that weighs 11 lbs.
Controlled with U/Tronics 4 channel system for throttle, flaps and leading edge droop(2 channels required).

I saw Clancy's plane hanging in his garage. Would definitely take a grown man and several small children to fly it. of course you could fly it on a speed pylon.
