Those young men and ladies doing that is to be commended. Seeing that little moving airport out in that big ocean and trying to set the plane down on it has to be a big rush the first time. I still wonder if they ever get over it with more flying time. Thanks for the video. I have tape of night time landing during a storm.

Those Navy trainees wouldn't be so skert to land it they learned how to do the 60 degree hover.

You probably won't believe this, but one of the last air shows done at Richards-Gabaur Air Base, a Navy jet did do a 60 angle flight down the runway in front of the crowd. The announcer made the mistake of saying that was a normal landing on a carrier deck. But, it was fun watching the planes coming in for the air show. You could tell immediately if the pilot was Air Force or Navy. Nothing like short field landings by Navy jets.
