If you do a little bit every day it will get done, or you can do it tomorrow.

Currently we don't have .15 Carrier on the sanction. We haven't had the call for that event.

Won't make plans as every time I do something messes them all up.  Have the flyer hanging above my work area in the shop. H^^

The weather forcast for Wichita on Saturday is 89 degrees, Party Sunny and light winds (www.weatherforyou.com). Looks like we are going to have a great day for the carrier deck to be set up. Come on out and get some flying in.

Hook down and ready to land,

Well I didn't commit to going Saturday, I loaded the old G-S Bearcat and gear in the Ford.  Alarm went off Sunday morn and Sandy the poodle plus me headed south.   Thought I would be too late, but Kevin Seaton said I had plenty of time if flying carrier.  So I entered both Profile and CLassic with the Bearcat.   Hadn't flown it in over a year.  Needless to say rusty old man I am did not make any official deck landings.   But I had fun and took a couple of photos.  One is the pit area.   Then one of Roy Fellows who I thought had quit flying.  Then the event director and helper, Fred Cronenwett and what his face.   The last is ole Dad alias Dale Gleason flying.

PS:Went back and looked at pic after posting and the quiet Texan is the man Mike Greb standing next to Fred.jeh

I really like that Dauntless, is it from an old kit, or plans, or...?

I think Roy says both planes are scratch built.   Maybe Fred can get him on here to answer the questions. H^^

I never did hear if the Dauntless was scratch built or if it was a kit.

Are any of you in this group planning to attend the St. Louis contest in September?

I have plans to attend the St Louis contest in Sept with a civilian sport scale and a military profile scale. I wish you also had fun scale then I would have another entry for my ARF scale job (F4U Corsair).

This Corsair was built from the Great Planes Combat ARF, I recovered the model and put on different markings. Powered with an OS-35FP makes a great carrier conversion, however this model is flown for CL fun scale. Pete Mazur has one of these set up for Electric carrier. I have been flying this mdoel for 5 years now, one the best sport models I have, I think I have over 100 flights on this model now.

Fred,

How did you install landing gear on the ARF Corsair?

Thanks,

I put std landing gear blocks into the wing, note they are flush with the bottom of the wing.  I put them against the spar and a solid rib and recovered the wing. Look at the photo and see if that makes sense. The gear is 5/32 wire. The tailwheel was std landing gear block put into the fuselage against a former. The great planes Corsiar is a awesome ARF. I decided to recover the plane and put my own markings on it. I powered it with an OS-35FP and have electronic controls with a 2-line bellcrank.
