Title: Carrier at The Nats
Post by: Paul Smith on July 07, 2020, 09:38:10 AM
I'm in for flying Carrier in Muncie.
As everybody knows, travel is down because of The Chinese Flu scare.  In addition to those who actually fear the disease, there is the fear of being denied service en route and the overhanging possibility that some authority will shut down The Nats.
I live only about six hours from Muncie and Indiana will be a relief from the oppression of Michigan's current governess.  So, worst case, I'm only out 2 or 3 days.  But I can sure understand why some people would be afraid to invest in a cross country trek.

According to Bob Heywood, who has volunteered to be the head man, we'll do our best get everything flown on Tuesday.  It looks like we'll have just enough headcount to fly, launch, and score.

It's very very important to maintain the continuity of The Nats.  If it got stopped for a year it would be hard to get it back up.

Carrier went well, thanks to the work of Bob Heywood.

As might be predicted, entries were down.  The whole thing spanned 4 PM Monday to about 1 PM Tuesday, but there were some entries in every event, except maybe one electric class, but I was too busy flying to know that for sure.

In one way it was nice to wrap it up in one day, but not so good for those who weren't quite ready.  No fiddling-around time.

There are a few on the AMA web site.  Here is the link.

There's a good posting of scores and a few photos.
With everybody flying, launching and judging, there weren't as many photos as usual.

Thanks for the link Paul.  I was beginning to think stunt was the only event being flown.  I have missed too many NATS and miss the guys and gals.  H^^

Thanks for posting on the NATS. I was sorry to miss this year, but think I made the best decision for my wife and I.
