Title: Brodak Guardian question
Post by: Jim Oliver on October 07, 2011, 12:42:39 PM
After looking at my Brodak Guardian kit, I remembered that the landing gear is fuse mounted rather than wing mounted.  Is that legal for any of the current Carrier events?

Thanks,
Jim

I presume your question pertains to Scale bonus points, not to whether the model is 'legal' or not --

"8.1.3.1. Profile Class models shall receive
10 bonus points if the outlines of the major
components of the model closely resemble (by
official’s visual
judgment) the actual aircraft as shown in the threeview
drawing. ..........

......... Neither scale dihedral nor scale landing gear location
are required.
"

The model is 'legal' in both Profile and Class 1, but would not get Scale bonus points in Class 1 - being a profile and several other reasons.  In the scale classes, the bonus points require that the landing gear 'emerge from the model in the same location as the prototype', but need not be to scale.

Thanks Mike-----the LG "emergence" item was what I was asking about.

I guess I'm a bit fuzzy about the different class distinctions; I'll re-read the rules a time or three.
