Anyone recognize this class 2 carrier plane? I bought it at Sunshine Hobbies in Clearwater Florida  around 1974.  It's well built, my guess would be from the 60s.  Maybe built by someone from the East coast that moved to Florida in the late 60s or early 70s.  188 may be a AMA cd number.

I don't know the owner, but it's something from the Blue Rat era.
A big 60-65 engine in a tiny plane.
120 MPH high, 35 MPH low and a dramatic attempted landing.

94803 might be his AMA number. Think it should have been on the outboard wing too

This my Jim Kloth designed Dauntless, I won many events with it including Rouge Park, Savana, Jacksonville, Lakeland . It had a Super Tigre G65 RV ABC engine with a Kavan Pressure Carb along with a exhaust baffle, good idle along with a dependable slow speed and landing, clocked at 133 at the King Orange. I retired all of my Old School Carrier airplanes when sliders and more emphasis was given to slow speeds. When at speed it pulls like you are water skiing. I tried to load a picture but not able to. Bob Kodamaki from House of Hobbies in Clearwater Florida bought it from me after it won the King Orange. Finish was K&B 3/4 glass cloth and Super Poxy Paint.  Do you still have it ? it would look nice hanging on my wall. Richard Perry showed it in Model Aviation along with my Class 1 Martin Mauler and Motton designed Skyraider

I was able to find a poor picture of the Dauntless

, I never put my AMA number on any of my Carrier planes ((AMA 4706) it was not required as the rules at the time wanted Scale type finishes along with documentation of the scale 3 views. Thanks, Jim.  I flew with Paul Smith when I was a kid (77 going on 78) in Detroit back in the day.

Thanks for the reply Jim.  I bought the Dauntless at House of Hobbies, I had the shop name wrong.  It came with a Rossi 60 RI no carb. For $90 I couldn't resist buying it. My main interest has always been combat but I did a little Profile carrier when it came out in the late 60s with some help from Rick Sawicki ( spelling probably wrong}. I lived in the Detroit suburbs and flew at most of the contests at Rouge Park during the 60s, did well in combat and profile carrier, also received 1st in profile carrier the 1st year it was held at the NATS. I'm now in Frostproof, Florida and fly with a group in Titusville, slower now that I'm coming up to 81.

In the 60s I flew at Rouge Park with Keats, Kilsdonk, Adamission Family, Paul Smith, after flying we played a game of after the Fox, chasing a kid named Larry Fox , if we caught him he was thrown into the Rouge. Belonged to the Orbiteers out of Royal Craft Hobby Shop on 7 mile .
