We had a good building session today. The model is extremely well designed and the framework goes together very easily. Watch for weekly updates as they happen.

The plan is an original from MAN magazine. Here's another shot. I can't believe you guys stuff an engine this big into an airframe this small. y1

That is how they get to four pounds, big engines and tail weight! I don't know about that brass fuel tank, I have had cracking problems with them. It seems like nitro reacts with the brass and makes it brittle. It's very hard to get to the tank for repairs so beware. Mike

We did a little more work today ...
Added L.E & T.Es, L.G. blocks for Fury #1
Fitted formers & ribs for Fury #2.
Cut out some remaining needed parts & worked on another project.

Doc we are using Rossi 60s. There is a picture of a Rossi sitting in the airframe a few posts up.

Hope no one seen the post I just deleted. HUA trouble. Hope you have better luck with your Rossi's than I did with mine. It had the Bill Johnson pressure system on it. Only had one decent flight of the thing. It was never as reliable as the ole Red Head McCoy .60. The build is looking great.

Doc were you using a rear intake speed Rossi? If you were I can see where it would have been tricky to set up. I'm using a vintage R/C engine and they run great in a pattern model, albeit they do eat lots of fuel.

Would be interesting to know as it has been almost a year. Now if it were me building you would have to waait another year. LL~ LL~Need to get back on my Red Skin for B-Team Race.

To be honest-I'm not such a"speedy" builder myself,but this seemed such an interresting build to me(i remember that plane out of a M.A.N. article way back in the seventies)and it would have been nice to see how it performs so many years later...oh well;guess i'll just have to wait some more!! :!(i might even try one myself;i've got a nearly new webra speed .61 collecting dust in my drawer...mmmm;just maybe.....) S?P Rudi.

There is no further progress to report on these models as we don't do much building over the summer. However, building season is fast approaching so it won't be too long before we're back in the dungeon.
Had a great time flying with the Fargo Morehead Skylarks club yesterday and I just got in from a great day of flying with the guys from the Winnipeg Perfect Circle Flying Club. The weather was perfect today.

This one apparently snuck in under my radar, what kit is this?
Looks really nice so far, but I would also recommend not using the brass tank, very prone to corrosion those old Acmes'.
