This is my new bearcat. The first thing I noticed after painting it is that I was working from a terrible 3 view, the shape of the vertical stab is way off. Anyway it's a slab wing with a KFM airfoil, about 135 square inches. Power is an AP Hornet with an apc 6.5x5, it's getting 19k on the ground with 25%. I hope to get it in the air Sunday.

Jim, nice set up. Nice look. I am sure it will work out fine. Looking to hear results. .15 event is a lot of fun.

the leadout cage is wayyyy back. I thought you couldn't use line sliders? Not being critical, just curious. I have watched the experts in .15 hang the ships.....I still don't have a clue how....:)

It's not a slider, just adjustable all the way back.

I got the bearcat in the air today. By the time I got the needle set the guy with stopwatch went home so I don't have a time but it was moving pretty good. Time wouldn't have been accurate anyway as I was flying from grass with 1 1/2" wheels. It was kind of a hop skip jump and a bounce into the air. I think I need to remove the 1/4oz of lead from the nose. It wouldn't hang but I didn't try to hard as it was pretty windy. On the first flight I actually went through a tree! Must have just gotten the leaves as there was no damage to the plane. Nonetheless it was still pretty exciting.

I was told by the guys that know, that they set up the .15's tail heavy so they get into the hang stall easily. I did that on the Gee-Bee sport 40 carrier ship and it hangs well.......a little jumpy on the high speed though.
May have to fly that thang again
