B-390
« on: March 31, 2015, 09:58:37 AM »
My previous B-390 thread got off into MO-1 discussions so I am starting a new one. I've attached a couple of pictures of the finished model. Hope to fly next week after Easter. The plane is all foam except for some bits of ply and CF tubing. This is the second model, beefed up some for a larger motor. Size wise it is about the same except for a bit longer nose moment. Flying weight will be about 1.25lbs.

I can run a lot of different power setups, but the one I a starting with is a 3530-1400Kv, 40amp esc, and 1300mah 3s battery.

I had built a normal retractable tailhook, but  after seeing Eric's tailhook in the most recent issue of MA, I changed  to his design. Since my tail skid
was permanently attached I just added it.

If you go to these links there are some videos by Tim LaNore of the prototype B-390 flying.

The first is a brief into to the plane at

The second is a demo flight I flew at a Picnic last fall.
