I am still converting old glow planes to electric. Most of the time it works OK. This is a 15 that used to have a Nelson on it. It now is electric. with a 8X6 it turns 18.5K on 4s, which should hit 70 I believe. The plane is a Bell XFL-1 with a COX foam wing. You might recall these, they are just sheet foam that you bend over a frame.

This article gives some info on the wings, The XFL has about 180 sq in. To bad they don't make these any more.
PS I built the Skyfire, good flyer.

John, funny thing! Yesterday I was looking at a video I took at the 1992 Nats in MA. Your recent conversion reminds me of the profile you lost at that contest. Any way, good luck with the new conversion.

PS That was 24 years ago! How did that happen without me noticing?

I remember that crash. I had a lot of trouble that year, tore a hook out of a class I, blew an engine, crashed a profile, and that's all I cannot remember. Melvin gave me the " try harder award and never give up award"
By the way that XFL flew again. I ended up using it at demos my club did back then.
