Title: A new carrier event at The 2018 Brodak Fly In

I have received permission to host an all-new carrier event at next year's Brodak Fly In.  If you are considering flying the event, please open the attached Word file and review the rules.

Back in the middle 60's, I represented my club in the MMAA (Michigan Model Airplane Association) an assembly of eight of the CL clubs in the Detroit area.  We used to launch at least one new event every year.  The events we launched include Class I Carrier, Profile Carrier, Novice Stunt (the 2nd of the current 4 classes). Slow Combat and Goodyear Racing.  When asked "why so many events?", the answer was "old events get stale when the same people win all the time and everybody else quits."

The same principle holds true today.  This new event does not modify or eliminate any of the old events.  As the X-president said, "if you like your old carrier event, you can keep your old carrier event."

In a nutshell, this event uses stock RC 25's with no sliders and no left-handed cranks and has caps of 75 MPH high and 15 low.  It would be no problem to put one together from readily-available parts.

I had trouble posting it, too.  I was forced to use an older format to get it to post.

Many folks can't open a  DOC file if they do not have MS word or compatible word processor app

Correctomundo, sir.  Nothing to measure.  I'm retrofitting a big slow combat plane & betting that I can fly slow and still hit 75 high.

Sure.  This is a new event in addition to the three events on Monday & Tuesday. 

I plan to open up for early flying on Wednesday afternoon after we close out Speed.
