Title: 21 Year Old Clss 1 Zero
Post by: JoeJust on September 17, 2015, 07:44:55 PM
I built this plane in 1994, flew it twice and then just hung it on the wall. Now, with a bit of time on my hands I cleaned it up, installed an Irving 35 in it and ran it. Without a muffler it nearly scared me!  Now, what am I going to do with it?  Class 1/2 is simply un available here in the NW contest scene, so perhaps I will have to take it to Brodak's in June.

Ken, I don't think my Zero would qualify for any scale event.  Maybe I will break my vow to never go to another Regionals,(don't ask) but it will be in 2017 at the best. However, by then I more than likely will be totally senile and would not be able to find how to get there.

Fly it for a score at the next available Carrier contest and add it to the NCS Top Twenty listing.

Good idea.  Then I could hold the title of having my name at the bottom of two lists of TT in the Navy Carrier Society. Not many could claim that position. Taking it to the Brodak Fly-In even begins to make sense to me. With only 12 entries in the TT (Top 20) for this year in Class 1 I could just be a shoe in!!

It's a neat model. Fly 'em, don't hide 'em.
