Did anyone use the new 2.4 equipment at the Brodak Fly-In?

NO. No one did in carrier,
several radios in scale

Was it because everybody is opposed to the concept, or because people didn't have their 2.4 ghz stuff ready yet? Or both.... or neither?

Saturday at our "2 Days of Carrier". First time I ever broke 4 minutes on low (but high still needs some dialing in).
So I guess I'd have to say it works real good. Everyone there is either working out their own application or building models for them. None are opposed to the concept (at least that I heard), just not quite up to speed yet.

That just about tells my story. I did make 3 attempts at the Portland contest, but recent cold/high winds etc have kept my fleet hanger bound.

Most of the Brodak fliers are stunt guys, the die hard carrier guys are old school, like Carl Schaefer, 110 mph hi, about 25 mph slow. Radio only move at the speed of light, can't quite get there in time.

We had a great time - perfect weather, lots of flyers and a busy deck. NEXT YEAR -- Two Day Carrier Fest will be June 7-8, 2014. We will have the field to ourselves as Combat will go on a different date - which should give us some extra help and allow everyone to fly as much as they wish (I could have used some flights in a few more events, at least).
