Which side for fuel inlet?

On a typical side exhaust engine mounted in built up fuse, which side of the engine should fuel supply enter engine? Ive noticed some have needle on same side as exhaust exit,some on opposite side. Which is correct/better. Thanks

Thanks, It is inverted, just looked wrong with needle in front of muffler but fuel line looked right. Thats why I asked.
