Title: Wing Tip Mod-Aldrich Nobler
Post by: Garf on June 09, 2011, 06:07:20 PM
I want to add an adjustable leadout guide to my next Aldrich Nobler or maybe a NoblARF. Would I lose a significant amount of area by going to a plate or block tip? I suppose it would be possible to extend the wing by a bay on both sides to compensate.

Try this: Just make a new laminated wingtip using three thicknesses of 1/8" to the original wingtips top view outline. Make the center laminate only partial (L/E and T/E sections only) to allow for the leadout slot.

I just built an ajustable guide on a scrath built '52 Nobler.  I did exactly what Wayne showed in his photo's and it worked very well.  Easy to do and keep the original tip shape.
