Hi Paul,

0000 is what I use.  Wipe the plane down REAL GOOD when finished.  Those tiny little bits of tiny steel will get on the plane everytime it seems! ;D

Thanks Big Bear. Here you got a new PA 51. What's it going in?

Hi Paul,

I can now build the Genesis MK III (.46) the way I have wanted to for a couple years now.  I have the can mufflers from Randy that go on the header.

I cannot thank our mutual friend enough!

Yep, 0000 steel wool. I do the 3 successive wipe downs with glass cleaner that Phil Granderson recommends. It's really important that you get all the oil off. But it works well and much less chance of going though the color.

The boat builders and furniture guys use bronze wool. They say it works better and doesn't leave particles. Kind of hard to find, but is available on line. It is also good for cleaning the rust off of chrome on your Harley.

You can get Stainless Steel Wool, and I seem to recall that you can get it that's certified oil-free.

I just found a new use for my heat gun...defrosting the freezer. Not much fun, but it has to be done.  HB~> Steve

Brother Rootbeard,

I can now get a new camera (the other one just quit working!) and when I get started on teh Genesis I will post some pictures.

I am also going to post a few pictures of the Airon build.  Now that I also have a new compressor, I can get it finished up!

I hope to have two new planes at Huntersville in October, and it will be possible if the chemo therapy doesn't treat me too bad. ;D (the new PAMPA class plane is a "Jurassic Stunt" project!)
