What does your Oriental Plus weigh?
« on: November 23, 2009, 05:23:02 PM »
My estimated weight for my Oriental Plus at the point I'm at now is 41 ounces.  I've been aiming for 48 ounces for this airplane and think this is EASILY attainable, even 46 I think I'd be able to reach.

Now, since some planes fly better at a certain weight, so what does your Oriental Plus weigh?

My Oriental plus profile Me 262 fuse and Nacelles weighs to much .
First was 38 Oz and would do endless wingovers on the outer OS Max. 20.

This ones 60 Oz. and has two G-15 FIs, the engines keep it straight with the C.G. 3/4 in to far back,
and it turns real tight with 1;1 flap / elevator ratio .Might try bladder tanks .

The 59 Oz. two x  fox 19 Whirlwind / Oriental works fine too.
The first one of them was 35 Oz.

Wheres all the jungle grown balsa with the strength of iron and the weight of a feather?
Blow the conformity ( plantation wood ) standards are slipping.Or do you guys purloin all
the good timber .

I'm slow at building (some would say in other ways, too) but the first Oriental+ wing weighs 17 oz. This is a Hunt core with epoxied skin, a bunch of Nitrate, controls, CF coating, flaps, etc. - ready to join with the fuselage. At this stage, I'm hoping to keep it under 50 oz.  We'll see . . .

(Too many irons; not enough fire)
