Man, I hate waiting for stuff. I'm currently waiting on a local sign company to finish cutting some vinyl masks so I can finish my Cobra. I'm waiting for an order of balsa from National Balsa and I'm waiting for some computer parts from TigerDirect. So, no computer, no new planes and no painting 'till the stuff gets here ('m typing this on a little laptop I keep around). I'm diddling around the edges with some stuff. Dithering over the next classic plane, dithering over plans for a new PA plane and my shop's cleaner than it's been for 6 months. But I still can't do much.
Sigh....

Man you got it BAD Randy!!!
-
Randy,
Well, I do better when I've settled on building something. It's the, "this, oh no, this, hmmm, may THIS" stuff that drives me nuts.
But I certainly have some ideas .....

It's kinda hard to feel sorry for you, Randy. Your VSC plane is getting painted while mine is still in pieces! I'm feeling the pressure.
I know about the waiting, though. Seems like I'm constantly waiting on some modeling item since I don't have the foresight to order everything at once.

Hi Randy,
I gotta love a guy who seems to be almost as impatient as I am! LL~ LL~ LL~ There have actually been a couple of planes I didn't build because I knew they would take even me too long!
Must be our backgrounds, we want to get on with it and get 'er done! Bummer on all the stuff you are having to wait on, and the holiday season doesn't help. Hopefully you will get everything in the next day or two and the Cobra from Hades will be done and you can get on with your PAMPA ship!
Happy New Year!
-
Yea, I just want to finish the Cobra so it is ready for Mike Haverly to cart it off to Tucson. then I'd like to at least get the new PA plane up to primer before starting something else. I suppose I could move on now, but it takes some time to get things set up and I hate to be constantly changing layouts going from one project to another.

Hey Randy,
I have two suggestions for ya at this critical time - one) Practice on that six string a bit & work up a new bunch of music to entertain the VSC folks with. S?P AP^
Two) start writing a new novel during the "down time" - that's what I'm doing! y1 y1 H^^
Blessings,
Will

Will,
Not sure the VSC crowd would, ah, appreciate my music. Tends to be a bit much for many. :)
I've been working on a novel, on and off, for 15 years. :)
Did some inking tonight on the control surfaces and am contemplating my next plane. Possibly something distinctly odd.
-
Randy,
Worry not about what the VSC "Crowd" can handle as music... Last year, we had some 'interesting' jams at one of the informal VSC evening gatherings. From newbie - but potentially great stunt flier - UAV driver in Iraq, to several times National and VSC Champ, and including a devout evangelist Christian...
You can't shock US, baby!
Bring it ON!
-
Lou, You're a man after my own heart! Ya heard him Randy, take it to them! (This from a guy who writes Texas blues gospel music! The church needs some culture shock from time to time!)
Blessings,
Will

Hey, most of the songs I know are about drinking, ladies of the evening and avoiding responsibility. :)

On another note, my stuff arrived yesterday. The balsa order from National Balsa was awesome. Very well packed and everything I ordered. Some very nice (and a lot of) wood. I should be set for a bit.
I also got my computer parts, but in typical fashion, I put it all together ... and nothing works. Finally got the video up and running, but I still can't boot the computer. Seems I'll have some diagnostic sessions ahead. I'll figure it out, but it's frustrating when you have all these new toys and they don't yet work. Sigh...
The paint is sprayed with the vinyl masks. Looks pretty good overall. This was my first time with these and so, there were a few issues, but it's a fairly short learning curve. Hopefully, I'll have time this weekend to finish up the inking (not my best inking job, but not horrible) between watching the Seahawks playoff game and the Dogs and Cats fight it out on the court Saturday night.

The good part, Randy, in my case, is that when I do get to building (or any other time, actually) I do not watch any ball games. I played in, and coached, too many! LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~

Bill,
I enjoy the distraction. Especially when things are going so badly with a plane.

I usually plug in one of Bobby's tapes! ;D Got almost all the ones he's ever done pretty well memorized. LL~ Except for the Covering With Tissue DVD. I only have a VCR in the basement. Guess I will have to *upgrade* to a DVD player........... ;D

From The Devil's Dictionary, Ambrose Bierce: "Patience - A minor form of despair, often characterized as a virtue".
I've discovered that the only sure way to get your stuff is, after waiting a reasonable amount of time, is to call the dealer. Your stuff will arrive in the next day's mail! Works almost every time . . .
