I'm thinking of using the Dupicolor paint sold in aerosol cans at the paint shop, how much coverage can you expect from the colors?

James,
My Ephesian is 746 squares and I used a little over two cans of the yellow. Keep in mind that it took two coats to get my desired effect because I used a powder blue blocking coat to get the hue I wanted.

Hi James,
We have been using the *Truck, Van, and SUV* big cans of Duplicolor lacquer for several years. I have found them to cover a bit better than dope, usually. Now I am experimenting with the *Paint Shop* quart cans and spraying them on. That way I can add a *little* flexative and fish eye killer to it. I shoot urethane 2 part clear over it, and it has held up excellently. I haven't found a *down side* yet! The Paint Shop colors are very limited right now, but they have added a *Metallic Clear* and a *Prism Clear* to use between the color and top coats. There are 8, IIRC, colors right now, but you can easily mix any color you want! I have a feeling that a stunter will get the *Prism Clear* before too long!

Hi Gary,
I am not sure as to why they recommend Acetone. The Paint Shop paint is a new *synthetic* lacquer, so I chalked it up to that. The Lacquer thinner Duplicolor sells is for the Filler/Primer and other *Specialty* paints they have. (according to the label)

Has anybody try to find out if The Paint Shop paint is a new *synthetic* lacquer, is fuel proof?

Hi Larry,
I have not had a problem since I overcoat with either clear dope or, usually, automotive urethane.
I haven't not clear coated in too many years to count...........
