Title: The best airplane for RO-Jett 76 rear exhaust with Lite Header Muffler
Post by: Matt Piatkowski on June 01, 2015, 10:25:18 AM
Hello,
What will be the best airplane for this engine.

Definition of the best in my case is as follows:

1. Build-up fuselage
2. Engine with the Lite Header Muffler positioned cylinder to the outside.
3. Easy access to the engine bay
4. Plenty of room and good access to the fuel tank
5. 60"+ wings span
6. Landing gear: 2 wheels + tail wheel or tricycle with nose gear
7. Laser balsa kit available for purchase before June 30, 2015

Thank you,
M

The THUNDER GAZER was designed around the RO-Jett 76RE.  Seems to have all your requirements.  RSM Distribution sells a nice kit for this.

I recently built a Thunder Gazer (not take-apart) for RO-Jett 61 RE.  Even the 61 has plenty of power for this plane.

The Legacy kitted by Brodak fits your requirements. I have an unbuilt Legacy kit and can say it is very high quality. I also have a Legacy ARF I have been flying for three years and while it may not be the same quality as the kit version it is pretty darn good, with Tom Morris-clone controls and CF pushrods, etc. The kit is in stock at Brodak for $132.00. Of course the Thundergazer would be a great choice, built for this engine, but any of the modern-era stunters will serve you well. I think the TG is a newer design.

Actually the Thundergazer was designed for the PA 75. I have one that had a RO-Jett 61 in it and now a PA 61 and it is the best flying plane I have.

I have a Trivial Pursuit with a RO-Jett 76 in it and I think that  plane would be a better fit for the 76. RSM kits it and is a great flying airplane!

You are correct about the PA75.  (I should have checked the plans again).
