Hello,

I measure the inside to inside on the TE sheeting top and bottom right next to where it connects with a rib.
Then I use my blasa stripper and cut a piece of 1/16" at that measured distance.  T
hen I cut it to length bewteen ribs.
Then using my x-acto I place one in place and hit it with thin CA.

Then I move to the next bay and cut it and glue it etc...

Hi Brother Gil,

I use the "inside" function on a standard caliper to get the height of my cuts, and use a Stripper like Doug does.  Got this from Mr. Bob Hunt, and there is a post somewhere on the site showing him doing it.

which direction should the grain be running on these bits? I was under the impression that the grain should run top to bottom for max strength effect.

Top to bottom is probably best.  However, I do them with the grain running lengthwise, and have no complaints.

Top to bottom for a ridgid wing , such as a twin spar , wwith Vertical Grain sheer webs at Mainspar .

For a Flexi Wing , along the span. The SAME as the SPAR .

or we get the dreaded Fokker torsional control revearseal wing warp /  flutter , ' stearage ' . n1
