Title: Tank for a Voodoo
Post by: rich gorrill on August 17, 2016, 07:14:05 AM
I recently scored a replica Voodoo on the Bay. I have a Fox  35x i'm going to use to power it. I don't want to get involved with a pen bladder or pacifier set up. I'm just looking to have a fun time flying it. Any ideas on a commercially available suction tank that will fit inside the wing.

Back in the day a Veco tank would fit between the spars.  I used the 4 ounce as my Fox's were hard to start hot.   There were to tubes,   One exits the bottom clearing the leading edge for the fuel pick up and the top one barely in the tank for overflow and pressure line.  Don't make a hole through the leading edge.   This was the set up shown on the Goldberg plans.  The thing about this set up was the pressure line could be pinched off while starting.

They're aren't many fuel tanks to chose from anymore.

Don't worry too much about getting it inside.  Just cut the sheeting to fit a tank you have.  If you must do it clean you might need to make or modify a tank.

Floppy balloon tanks work just fine! Big balloons can hold over 2 ounces of fuel, just right for casual sport flying. Do a search on balloon tanks for the how-to.
