Hey Sparky,
How about a P-47N with the long ventral fin and squared off wingtips? (this would be WAY cool and I bet you've never seen one done for C/L stunt) I know, I see your tips are done, but the way you go you could re-do them in about 1/2 an hour! y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1 y1
I never saw or heard of that one Bill. Sounds cool to me, anyone have any pics?
Lookin' good Sparky, I'm staying tuned.
Cool. y1
(Hint: It'll stand out alot more from those 40 others with the O.D. and Grey paint, Invasion Stripes, and black/yellow diamond-checker cowl and tail.) >:D >:D >:D y1
I thought this '47 was going to be a Razorback! Tsk, tsk, tsk! But hey, what's that airplane hanging on the wall in the top picture? Silver or gold painted...looks good. You have too many airplanes. :! Steve
Is the fuse outline different from the previous version? It looks more scale to me, maybe I just didn't notice before.
Lookin' good! y1

How about adding the vents in the sides of the aft fuse? That would be a cool detail. Aluminum tube guns in the wing...the cool factor keeps going up. x:
It weighs 31 oz right as it is pictured here. Target weight is just under 60. It will be tough.
Here are a few shots of what I have been up to. The cowl on this one to two days. Jim Lynch gave me a guide at the last NATS on how and what they were looking for for the front row. Perfect fits and shape are in the cards for this bird. I was going to make a remote glow starter but it weighs 14 grams. Too much extra weight IMHO. But the fuel line is hidden in the cowl opening and the needle valve will not show either.Hidden mounting hardware. Its been a pain but I hope it will pay off.
Last shot is one of the Brazilians T-Bolts. I hope they used glue this year. At last years NATS I was almost hit with a flying engine on one occasion and on the other occasion I was almost his with a whole plane in the face.
Whats those "BOBOs" on the fuse under the veil?
This is an experiment I will report the findings here. Randy Smith said ZS is the lightest filler so you know how I am about light. I am not afraid to try new things, light is where its at and I thought I would give it a try. I know what your thinking - but why on a plane that took so much work. The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over expecting different results. Last time I check I wasn't crazy so Something new. **)

A segurança é importante. Você constrói planos muito agradáveis e eu não signifiquei nada para sua abilidade. Eu era justo indicando um fato sobre os aviões que vêm distante no NATS.
English:
I am not sure what you are trying to say? Safety is important. You build very nice planes and I meant nothing toward your ability's. I was just stating a fact about airplanes coming apart at the NATS.
What's ZS?
I've been following your build threads for a while and like your relatively simple and light finishing process. I just ordered some ZS as I wanted to give it a try and was wondering if you spray it on or brush it on over the polyspan. Also, what grit do you use for sanding the primer off the polyspan?
Thanks
Sparky, my man!
That one is much more "Scale" looking than before for some reason. Everything looks great so far.
I have decoded that mine will be a turtle deck and painted up as the "Little Chief". It has a large profile of an Indian Chief in full head dress on the cowl with red nose ring and rudder, O/D over gray.
BTW: any progress on my shells? **)
Keep it up!
Bill <><
Progress will start when the ship leaves Ecuador some time at the end of the month.
Just a little color so far. Check back later for more.Whats gonna happen on the cowl, black and white checkerboard? Iknow, wait and see... ~~>
Sparky,
I don't recognize these markings, Is this scheme an actual copy of a wartime P-47 scheme? BTW, Invasion stripes on the bottom would be cool to.
Lookin' good! y1

Looks good Bob. BTW, who painted your pilot?
Robert:
It's beautiful! Congratulations!
What is the engine power? Pipe use?
My model with Saito 72 is excelent, I'm passioned by 4T.
Thanks.

Please, my error in english, tell me the correct form.
I was asked how I get the nice clean lines around the fillet area. I use to Ink them by making a template but I have found I can tape them off nicely. If you don't like how it looks just re-tape as desired. So the method of choice on the model is tape. I will go to the pen soon.
I like to call it "Eyeball Engineering", I consistently practice this method. ;) ;) ;)
Sparky,
I take it your using the small detail airbrush for the lines?
Bob, "Who painted your pilot"?
Robert, you are simply an artist. It's disgusting...no single person should have so much talent. Just look at those rivet heads.
--Ray
I really, really like the extra "Scale" details you have incorporated into this one!
Where did you get a stencil to do the rivets?
that's paint isn't it?-------
Sparky,
That is just too much---you gotta stop! You don't give the rest of us a chance!
Jim
Being a good mechanic is not remembering the specs on every thing you work on but know how to use the resources available to you.
Not tired of seeing the pictures, but I am getting more jealous.
I think I now have the incentive and motivation to pay closer attention to detail on my next
finishing job! :!
Thanks Robert!!!
. If you strive for perfection (while unachievable) will yield a outstanding model.
i bet you have a fortune tied up in stencils!! How much?
Here is the kind of detail thats on my new plane. I hope you like it.Great shots...Bob, you really nailed the looks on this model
Robert
I am in Jack Sheeks basement and am showing him the photos of your new P-47.
Jack says that it sould get put in the front row. He says to now buff it out good.
Will try to get Jack signed up for stunt hangar.

Thats incredible. You made the flap invisable. And made the inside of the wheelwell look fantastic to boot.He needs to figure out how to make the LG stealth when he takes off!! HB~> ~>
but if you make the rest of the stealty like the flap judges will hae a hard time seeing your square corners.
Have a Happy Thanksgiving.
Everybody!!!
