Here's a little up date on my "Armourized Tutor" project.
The stabs, elevators, and vertical fins are done. I shaped the elevators and fins using the wire method. Super easy to do and dead accurate.
Here is my wing at the very beginning. This is the first time I've tried using rods.
The wing later in the build. This is probably the straightest rib wing I've ever built. The rods work well but sometimes they can get in the way.
The bellcrank is installed. I'm using a 4 inch. It just fits.
I'm preparing to install the gear blocks here. They are like the ones Bob Hunt uses in his lost foam wings, basswood and maple.
I have more pictures later.

Hey Clay!
Nice job! are you building 2 planes? Noticed the 2 stabs and rudders. Who makes that wing jig? I see your a SS Tips man. I did them for 20 years and finally quit 1.5 weeks ago! Taste sooo good! :X
How are you going to finish it?

Doggone, Richard, you're supposed to be a photo expert! Don't you recognize a "double exposure" when you see one? <Grin>

Hi Richard,
Yes I am building two of these. I just got back into C/L last summer after a 30 year lay off and I'm a little rusty. I thought a backup would be in order in case I swack one into the concrete again. :P
The wing jig is home made. I got the .065 wall aluminum tubes from McMaster Carr and the aluminum channel I got from onlinemetals.com. The support blocks that go between the two channels I made from cabinet plywood. Real simple and it builds a straight wing.
I plan on finishing the wing with Higgins Ink/dope and Polyspan. The fuselage and tail feathers I am going to glass. For the solid colors, stripes, and clear I plan on using Dupont.
The Stoggies help me ponder. I like em but I really need to give them up too. ;D

Hi Clay,
Looks like you are doing a real good job on building those Tutors. They should fly real nice!
