Every time I walk through a Lowes, Home Depot, Wal Mart, Hobby Lobby or Hardware store, I am always looking for simple and inexpensive ways to store things or make things more organized in my shop and I am sure a lot of you all do too.

Yesterday I decided to get my planes on a rack so I built this one from a couple of 2 x 4's, some 7/8" dowels, and some pipe insulation.  I am sure many of you probably already have one like this or similar to this but maybe some person might be wondering a good way to do this so thought I would share it. 

Walking through Wal Mart yesterday I spied this ice cube tray and thought of using it in this way to store exactos, brushes, pens etc.
You can either mount it on the wall or edge of your table or just set it on top of the table.

I also bought some ear plugs to take the place of the pieces of paper towel that I stuff in the venturis.  Works great too.

My shop is fairly clean, depending on the day you look at it, but it's a bit dingy. This summer I plan to paint it and get something down on the plywood floor. That would be nice.

My rack for combat wings, of PVC.  Hangs on the wall, designed to be taken down as is--loaded--and taken to the field.  That part didn't really work out too well.
