LMI Instrument Makers glue
« on: April 20, 2014, 11:09:55 AM »
I recently had a chance to compare the LMI Instrument Maker's glue with original PICA Gluit (the gold standard of sandable aliphatic glue). As near as I can tell, it is exactly the same stuff. I would guess they come from the same production line (since neither LMI nor PICA/Dave Platt is likely to have had their own chemical plant). Sand the same, leaves the same sort of white streak residue of you wipe it off, smells the same, grabs the same.

This seems like good news, since PICA hasn't been in business for many years. Unfortunately, if you go to the LMI Website, they don't have any, either! Whether that is permanent or not, I have no idea, but it does fit with the well-known stunt rule - "anything we find to be good for stunt is immediately discontinued".
