Just a helpful tip when gluing leading edge sheeting
« on: March 17, 2023, 01:56:18 PM »
Before you glue your leading edge sheeting to the ribs and leading edge, cut some 1/16 x 1/4 balsa strips between the ribs to let the edge of the sheeting rest on and provide a better bond.  This is very important when building a Millennium type wing.  Here are some pictures to illustrate this.  NOTE:  This is NOT a Millennium type wing.

Tom Morris supplied these in all his kits, starting with the profile P51.  Great idea and thanks for bringing it to the attention of builders. D>K

Ty,

That is who taught me to do it.  I talked to Tom today and he sounded good but said he was fighting some health issues.  I will not go into it on here but you are close enough to him to probably know.  He is really a one of a kind man and gentleman.
