Should the control surface's be tapered, flaps, elevators, Rudder. Should this be left flat. Is there a reason for one or the other.

Without getting my kit out and looking at the plans I'd say yes unless there 1/8" but there probobly 1/4". The fin and rudder I normally leave the outboard flat and taper the inboard side.

Hi Steve, I finished mine up this last spring. Just rounded the vertical stab & rudder, tapered elevators, flaps v'ed leading edge and rounded. Can't say how it worked as I have'nt flown yet. What power you running? Jack

I should think that should be good, since it shows a fox on the plans. Did you use the plastic turtle deck? I ditched mine and used balsa. don't know if it saved any weight, but turned out ok

Mine flies pretty good with flat control surfaces. As Jack said, ditch all the plastic crap in the kit and use balsa.

I was thinking of making new out of balsa or covering the plastic with silk span. Getting the wing in the fuse with the flap horn on is going to be hard. I dont have the instruction sheet building off the plans. Justs seen yesterday that I did not put in the tail wheel, now this should be fun.

Steve, you cut the bottom of fuse,diagonally, just behind leading edge and at trailing edge. Seems like its on the plan side view. Might be able to cut a little section of the bottom sheeting off, leaving the stringers to mount the tailwheel platform on and re-sheet. Hope that helps Jack
