Sig Aerokote

What do you guys think about Sig Aerokote?  I just covered a Twister with it because that is what S&S sells.  I really like the ease of application compared to Monokote, but how does it hold up?  I guess I'll have my own opinion in a few months, assuming the Twister lasts that long, but how do you like it?  It shrinks and covers better than Monokote in my opinion, so I hope it holds up well.

I used it on the fuselage of my Mark 1 and it seems to have a problem on the edges with peeling up. High heet shrinks it up so be carefull.

Russell,

Are you going to use the .40 on it?

Yes, the 40 is going on the Twister.  Just have to get some paint on the fuselage and tail and it'll be done.

Aerokote is good for a few months - I used it pretty much exclusively on my film covered planes - it does go on well, and is easy to get around curves etc -

It does delaminate tho - I have had a couple of airplanes where the clear plastic has come away from the colour.

Relly noticalbe if you want to strip and re-do something - the colour stays put - but the clear top peels right off..

In the battle of airplane versus ground, the ground is yet to lose

Well Wynn, I guess I'll see if the covering lasts longer than the Twister.  I'm not the best flier in the world.  I WILL be pretty disappointed if the covering doesn't hold up.  Maybe they have improved the stuff.
