Title: Rudder Installation
Post by: Dennis Saydak on May 31, 2011, 02:03:23 PM
What is "standard procedure" for installing the rudder on a built up fuselage? Do most folks just glue the end grain rudder bottom to the top block or do you slot the block and secure the redder to the stab top surface as in this picture?

either way works fine - you will usually use a fillet on the joint from top block to fin anyway - so there is additional strength there.

I always go to stabalizer top surface for added strength.  Good luck with the Jaguar.
PS-you will like it glued this way if you make an inverted landing.
