I am sanding out a coat of primer and managed to cut through an edge and opened up a bay (covered with polyspan).  Should I cover that bay with silkspan to repair since it is just one bay or use poly again shrink with heat gun?

   A pal put me onto a way to help hide silkspan patches some time ago, I tried it and it works well. Instead of cutting your 'span tear ir on all 4 sides, wet and stick down, then some dope on the edges, let dry and finish.
 It will be hard to spot the patch with when finished as the torn edges feather in with the original finish.  Good luck...
