So today I tried my first outside loop... I climbed high and dove toward the earth and splat. Not enough down. The profile motor mount is cracked slightly on the top bearer. The back hole on the bottom still has the bolt in the hole through the blind nut but is broken off. I am thinking of using the Brodak motor mounting system. http://brodak.com/engines/motor-mounts/motor-mount-system.html If I bolt this over the area after epoxying things as best I can, will that work. It will essentially brace the cracked area and allow for swapping engines if needed. Good news is that my OS LA .46 survived the crash and only the elevator coupler broke other than the engine mount. I will try to post a photo later. I need to get flying again as our contest in Baton Rouge, LA is coming up in 3 weeks.

I am not a fan of those. If the other three holes on the case are in good shape, all you need is a washer under the bolt head. I have done that on many engine mounting.
The alternative is to make a aluminum plate to fit over the top of the engine lug with matching holes. Then use longer bolts. H^^

The engine mounting lugs are fine, as is the engine. The issue is one bolt is stuck in the blind nut and the forward top hole is cracked slightly. I thought about one of the "C" shaped crutches made of aluminum.

an easy way to get used to the outside is to (as said before) do a lazy 8. Start with half of an inside loop then nail the down. It will be easy to see the first half of the outside loop and can decide if you want to complete the rest of it. the advantage here is the altitude that the half inside gives you. Once you do it a few times, it will be much easier.

If you don't get it fixed or it takes another shot before then we can come up with another plane for the contest. Keep up the practice it will pay off. Good advice on the outsides in this post.
