Title: Removing Wax
Post by: Jim Treace on March 20, 2007, 02:12:09 PM
Guess I thought the wax would bring out the shine on my Smoothie more than it did. Now I want to remove the wax and put on a few more coats of clear dope. What is the best way to remove wax without affecting the finish?

Can't be much different that doing art work on motorcycle tanks and fenders.  I use prep-sol and clean rags.  Next I use more prep-sol and more clean rags.  Z@@ZZZ Then soapy water and a sponge, rinse a couple of times, and the wipe down with alcohol.

I second that, prepsol, a couple times, then soap and water,, Just clean it till you get that "feeling" that its good, then clean it again!

I have asked profesional auto painters what they like best so they don't have a problem and almost everyone says Tide laundry detergent does the job best for them. Wipe with a tac rag and then start shooting!

According to Mr. Miyagi, you use your right hand. Of course it's well known that most of us have  "waxed-off" with our right hands. H^^
