Polyspan
« on: May 11, 2009, 09:46:45 PM »
Hello Flyers

I just applied my polyspan to my Twisters wings and i was wondering
how to get those nice deep contours between the ribs .   Like on a
Bill Werwage Ares ship.

Right now my polyspan is just shrinked level.  Please Help ,
Thank You   Bryan Higgins ??? ???

Will post pictures soon!

Actually Brian, your Twister will actually fly better if the covering doesn't sag between the ribs. Are you trying to get the I beamer look?

Have you doped it yet? my Avenger looked the same way until I started applying the dope then it shrunk in . The poly span itself doesnt shrink enough to draw it between the ribs. and as stated, it probably makes it a better airfoil without the shrinking down, but it sure looks cool,

THOUGH some argument could be made for a reduction in spanwise flow of air across the wing with the Ibeam style scalloping between the ribs S?P

Yes the Polyspan will sag between the ribs just like silk or nylon.  It is the dope that does it.  That is why we stretch span wise as much as we can.  It you have put in half ribs between the main ribs it will work.  DOC Holliday

Thanks guy's

I do have the half ribs in the wing.  I just returned to CL so i am new to alot of this stuff.
So my Randolphs nitrate dope non-taut will help with further tightning of the wing?
I do have the Randolphs Tautning Dope as well.
