Post by: Larry Wong on April 19, 2006, 02:47:45 PM
I'm at the point of finishing my plane , I'm wet sanding the clear dope and polishing it with Simi Chrome .Is there something else that I can use. I have tryed white polishing compond but the semi chrome seams to work better j1

yes  wet sand  first  with  1200  1500  then 2000  to get the  surface ready
then get a  bottle  of  BRASSO.
the shine  will pop up in a few  strokes.
After  that use a  good  automotive  polish

But if you want the best I have  found, get the  MeGuires (spelling???)  diamond cut , swirl remover, then final buffling  compound

Regards
Randy
