Title: Paging Randy Smith! ie: foam wings
Post by: Bill Little on March 07, 2006, 11:02:03 AM
Hi Randy,
Since I have four of your foam wings here, another thread has prompted me to ask you this:
When skinning foam wings with Z-poxy and lots of weight placed on the cradles to cure, do you need to do anything to shim up the "lost" foam areas that the hot wire created when the panels are "cored"?????
Thanks!

HI Bill

I am putting about 50  pounds of weight on top of the glass  that my cores are  under, ( I do mine between 2 pieces of 14 x 36 glass ) I have never found any need  to shim  the inserts.
What I do ,is just push them back in the  cores about an inch deeper.
The  wings  always  keep  the  shape.

Regards
Randy

Thanks, Randy.  That is pretty much what I have been doing.
