nylon bushings for adjustable lead outs ?
« on: March 04, 2017, 02:04:56 PM »
Is there any reason not to use nylon bushings on the slide-able part of the adjustable lead out assembly for the lead out wires to route through?  Will the nylon groove in time?

No, in fact all of mine are made of nylon. It will get a groove in it over time if you don't adjust your leadouts correctly.

Maybe ZX-100 material is better:

"The plastic, which never wears out"
I use it for many tasks: bellcrank, pushrod-fork, expo-crank, etc.

I've used nothing but UHMW since the early 90's.  (Ultra High Molecular Weight.)  At one time it was referred to as the slickest material known to man.  It is workable much like any nylon you can find.  Might even be what Brett is referring to.
