I built this in a month. Not really my style of airplane but now that I'm flying it, I'm starting to like it.
It's modeled after a Musciano Golden Hawk. Black Hawk Models maanufactures and sells a lot of the Musciano 1/2A hollow log models. The Golden Hawk is one of them.
weight---29 oz. this with Bud Nosen balsa just hefted in hand till I thought I had the lightest piece.
engine---a Silver Fox .35 from Brodak. Great engine. Nice run.
Fuel system is suction.
Wing span 42 inches
Length about yay by yay. I forget right now.

That was a great idea, Frank!

It wasn't my idea Bill. Larry Rice at Black Hawk Models gave me the idea. He'll be kitting the plane some time next year.
I'm going to build another one with a few slight changes so I can accurize my drawings. Building a model is easier than getting one together for kitting.
I've got a long thread at the AMA District V11 site loaded with pix on this one's build.
I've been pretty ruff on this one and it's holding up really well. Did you catch that landing on the hover video? Not a ding or crack anywhere.
At 29 oz. the Fox .35 gets to run rich enough to break from a 4 to a 2 stroke on all the maneuvers. I really like the sound of it in the video.
And how about Grace? She's getting really good at capturing and narrating video. Whenever I want to record a flight I wait till she's at the circle.
We got this footage at the Kilsdonk Memorial Fly In in Flint last week. Here are a couple pix from the event.

That is really a neat airplane. I look forward to the kit production, the Black Hawk kits have been
very nice to work with and Larry has always been available to answer questions.........

We'll consider that an order Dalton........thank you. ;D
I'll be available to answer questions too, once the kit is out.
Here is a link to the build thread. You may have to register to get to see the pictures but it's FREE.

It'd odd to read the thread, and know that photos were supposed to be included, and wonder how it (the forum software used) filters the pictures out, leaving no empty boxes or anything.

AHH..........the marvels of modern technology.
Just register and the pix will magically appear!
