Hi, I just wanna share my building journey of a Brodak Cardinal.
I知 not an expert builder, but I love building planes. My building skills are pogressing, and this project is actually done way better than my Banshee. Soon, I値l become a better builder.

This project has been going for almost 10 months, and still not finished yet due to my limited time to build.

Just few more steps left, and I will still update this post, and hopefully I can finish it by the end of this month.

Kafin,

Not only does it look good, you did a good job building the Cardinal.

The Cardinal is a great, little plane....you'll have fun flying it.

Take your time doing the initial trimming, and don't rush things.  If you have
people in the area that are experienced pilots, ask for help, and take advantage
of their experience.  It can pay off big time.

Kafin:

If you haven't finished the flaps yet, cut 1/4" off of the back.  They are too big.  If you have, set the flap horn to give you more elevator than flap. Better yet do both.

How exactly do you set the flap horn to give more elevator?
The position of the pushrod on the horns?

I may have misled you on where to make the change, sorry.  You do it by having the distance to the pushrod on the elevator closer to the hinge line than it is on the flaps. I am not sure what horns come with the Cardinal.  Which holes you use on the controls is very much a personal preference.

It depends on how much you have progressed.  The Cardinal will fly pretty good stock.  They have a bit of a tail whip which can make for some funny business in corners and they are prone to stalling in the square 8.  That is where the control changes and flap size help.  Just take it easy on the controls and you will be fine stock.  Both of those changes that I suggested can be done later if you see the need.

I would say that your building skills have greatly improved.  That is a first class MonoKote job.  It looks about ready to fly.  It appears that you used the plan control setup which is a good starting point.  With the horns external it will be easy to slow them down if they are too fast or speed them up if they are too slow.

I would respectfuly suggest using 440 socket head bolts to mount the motor and get rid of those slotted screws.
