Metallic paint over iron-on?
« on: October 30, 2015, 06:35:20 PM »
After searches for info on fuel proof dope/paint over films, simply put I found:
no dope over film, Rustoleum good except metallics and clear.
I want to paint a film (unknown brand) covered wing silver or aluminum.
Are there any brands of metallic that do work?
Maybe a clear over the metallic?

The only film I have did a complete job of dope on is SLC by Corehouse.  Follow Phils instructions and no problem.  Monokote I only dope over the edges after scuffing with Green Brillo Pad and wiping down with acetone.  Now if you go into the finishing section of this forum, plan on several hours of reading.
