I have used the last of the vynal tapes on any of my planes.  The last couple of rolls I bought at the automotive paint store lifted paint when I tried to remove it.  I asked my daughter about the cling wrap they use on dishes with food.  She stated it  stuck pretty good, but, whe went to the kitchen and brought me a box of "Glad Press'n Seal" to try.  The stuff is not flexible, but, it worked great for straight lines.  A single edge razor blade took care of curves where needed.  If and when I can get the wife to take pictures you see the Spitfire I used it on.  Of course the graphics are made from monokote.  Didn't there use to be a masking material that was painted on at one time?  Later, DOC Holliday

Seeing how I live in a somewhat remote part of Canada , I was wondering about different masking materials .
I don't have access to a print shop , so I'm wondering if 3M automotive paint tape will suffice for the time being ?
I'm sure i can always use polyethylene sheeting for a large area mask , with 3M tape as the adhesive material , but are there other things I could get , without having any custom cutting done (or for that matter , from a local hardware store) ?

OK Guys try this,
Good old fashioned vinyl contact shelf paper.  Draw on it, cut it out, spray paint it, and peel it off.  Use hexane (rubber cement thinner) to remove the sticky stuff if needed.
Also try using the same base color paint to seal the edges of the tape (or mask) instead of clear, if it leaks who cares….LOL  This has worked well long before they had vinyl masks and stripping tape.
