Magician Build Question

Hi guys,

First solo build and have a question.  the elevator horn and carry through rod seem to be offset ie not even, is this normal. trying to post photo but it is not working

You want your elevators to be aligned with each other as evenly as possible, so if that is not the case it is easier to correct that now by supporting one end of the horn in a vise and twisting the other side enough to achieve this. It is harder to do, or at least more unnerving, to twist and tweak horns in the finished plane.

Good luck with the magician--it is an excellent plane. Is yours flapped or unflapped?

    They should be level with each other, as noted, put one leg of the horn in the vise and twist it straight. Almost everyone builds hard spots in the elevator or flap so they can adjust it once it is finished, but better to make it straight to start with

thanks all, yes figured they would be equal just wanted to check, and it has fixed flaps.. this one is the Brodak kit, I actually have completed another Midwest version but did not do most of the build.  Im in Africa ( Work here back and forth ) Nigeria... so have a lot of down time so building is prefect. brought over a reasonable  amount of things but still limited.
