Many moons ago we used to be able to buy clear butyrate acetate sheet at the LHS for making windscreens, etc. The stuff you get nowadays is all PET, like what is used for plastic pop bottles. I'm looking for a couple of pieces of .015" sheet that is say 4" X 4" to make a wind screen for a classic ship I'm restoring. This will just be bent not heat formed. The PET crazes when bent and doesn't stay perfectly clear. Anybody have any in their old time goodies stash they could spare?

Check art & craft stores -- Dick Blick, Michaels, etc. Search on "Acetate".

Jim,
The SIG stuff is PET, the same they use to mold canopies. I'm looking for some old acetate butyrate clear sheet stock.
Aircraft Spruce sells it but it's .030" which is too thick. I just need a little.
