I am always searching for lighter ways to do things so I am doing a lost foam beam wing. This whole airplane will be built with this in mind. Everything in the wing except spar is 1/16, 1/16 molded stab and elevators. Molded 1/16 flaps. And the fuse 1/16. All the wood I have for this plane is 3.6 pound wood. Shooting for 50 ounces even. With a airplane this size and all the fixed weight (hardware) its tuff to hit. It will be slightly a different design from the Vipers but will be in the same family. I need to leave parts off to reach this weight so it will have no spinner and a few design changes to help. Here is a pic of the progress so far, it's very slow going as each rib is a full rib slid over the spar. They all need to be hand fit. Molded LE. and TE with cap strips. I'm looking for this wing to be in the 5 ounce range including tips.
