Hi all. So after getting back into the swing of things and back at it, I have a question regarding leadouts, and such mainly on 1/2a aircraft. So I have done the standard tying Dacron directly to the bellcrank, and up until now, I have also successfully used solid music wire. The other day I found 2 spools of fishing leader material. On it is marked 'Nylon Coated Stainless Steel'. I removed the coating from one end and it is not a solid wire. It is also marked as 15lb, and the 2 spools measure in at .018 and .019 respectively. Is this a safe alternative for using on 1/2a airplanes? Thank you in advance.

I think so. the brand I have used is Surflon. I don't recall the # test as I have three different spools. I used it on a 35 size plane once, but when I lost it in a windy overhead and caught it with a yank, the steel wire pulled loose when the black plastic sheath broke. I doubt if a 1/2A could pop it though. I still have several rigged with it.
