Guys,
Just wondering how closely people fit the leadout guide to the leadout cable/wire? By this I mean the size of the hole in the slider for adjustable guides or the tubing/eyelet size relative to the cable/wire size used. I know for solid leads you need to have a bit of room for the leadout to bend a little or it will have high friction and could cause hunting (say at least 3/64" hole or tubing/eyelet). In the past I never gave it much thought for cable but am now thinking that even with cable a little room won't hurt. What do you use?

Even cable leadouts have some friction at the leadout guide.
Consider a 4" bellcrank. Leadout spacing at the tip is typically 1". That creates a "bend" at the tip position. I use smooth brass eyelets with I.D. several wire diameters. It doesn't eliminate friction, but the smooth eyelets, with slight flare, reduces friction to the maximum extent possible.

Nylon inserts/eyelets with about a 1/16" hole and about 1/4" long have are a good way to reduce friction.
