I didn't think any of the Krylon was fuel proof (except their poyurethane).

Ty,

Krylon Crystal Clear 1301 isn't long-term immersion fuel proof, but for sealing things like autographs is just adequate. If you can let it cure a few days before hosing it down with raw fuel, it should stand up long enough to allow an overcoat of something you know to BE fuel proof.

Hint: REALLY get the model surface CLEAN (like with high% isopropyl alcohol) before the autograph is applied. Let the autograph dry a few hours, then first mist over with 1301, and at the ~10 minute "recoat" recommended time wash an almost wet-look coat over it. A day in the trunk (car) or rear compartment (van) in the Summer sun (Arizona March sun) should do most of the gassing off and curing for you so you can at least get it home and overcoat it with a REAL fuel-proof top.

Ty,

Sorry to hear that. For you and any others who might run into a similar problem at VSC in Tucson, there is an ACE Hdwre store on the south side of Grant, about halfway between Silverbell Rd and the Rodeway (or whatever it calls itself these years...) The storefront is set a bit back from Grant, and not blindingly visible, but it is there... I even found some DUCO cement in there, this year... (forgot to bring it from home...)

I was wondering where that Ace Hardware moved to.  Stopped at it many a time when in Tuscon when it was on the other side of Siverbell.  DOC Holliday
